All singles players in second round

The J&T Banka Prague Open's Monday schedule had to be completely postponed due to rain. Tuesday's sky over Prague was sunny again and all the first round singles matches were played. Anastasia Potapova rallied to beat second-seeded Anastasija Sevastova 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. And in another upset, wild-card entry Svetlana Kuznetsova defeated last year's finalist, fourth-seeded Mihaela Buzarnescu 6-4, 6-2.

The weather has seriously disrupted the plans of the Prague WTA tournament organizers. Fans did not see a single one of the 14 matches scheduled to be played on Monday.

Therefore players had a busy schedule on Tuesday. Czech seeded players Kateřina Siniaková and Barbora Strýcová managed to win their first round matches easily. But there were many surprises – World no. 13 Anastasija Sevastova lost in three sets to Anastasia Potapova and last year's finalist Mihaela Buzarnescu lost to wild card Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Chineese third-seeded Wang Qiang didn't have an easy shift but she managed to advance over Margarita Gasparyan in three sets. In an all-American first round, unseeded Jennifer Brady came from a set down to upset fifth-seeded Danielle Collins.

Bernarda Pera, Jessica Pegula, Mandy Minella, Jana Cepelova, Tamara Korpatsch, Antonia Lottner, Karolina Muchova, Jil Teichmann, Natalia Vikhlyantseva, Anna Karolína Schmiedlová, Jana Čepelová are also advanced.

A home star Lucie Šafářová started her first round doubles match but the play was suspended by darkness.

For the next few days, the weather forecast is favorable.
